Who is eligible for this program?
Young women entering 9th through 12th grade in the Fall of 2022 in the DFW region of Texas.
Benefits:
● Access to the best academic institutions in the area, with exclusive ‘Latinas in Progress’ only campus tours.
● Information about scholarships and special programs from various organizations, corporations, colleges, and universities.
● Participating Senior students are eligible to apply for HWNT's scholarships/awards for use towards a university, college, or trade/vocational school.
● College readiness seminars and toolkits, as well as professional development opportunities.
● Interaction with other young Latina leaders and mentorship
LIP Scholarship Requirements:
Participating Senior students who attend seven seminars are eligible to apply for scholarships. Criterion for selection is based on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, community service, and student commitment. Scholarships are awarded based on seminar participation, academic performance, future goals, and financial need. An average of 4 scholarships is awarded every academic year and awards range from $1,000 to $2,500.
